Merry Christmas and Happy 2014!
This is our fifth “Holiday” season for the Confidence Makeover ‘movement’.
Each and every year, one constant is very obvious: the holiday season presents a whole different Confidence-building scenario. It’s incredibly more challenging and has so many more factors that you must deal with. Your Confidence Plan may need some ‘elf dust’.For me, the action you need to take is very clear. More than any other time of the year, you HAVE TO work to build your Confidence during the holiday period. What I have learned from many of the workshop participants is that they make ‘holiday’ adjustments to their Confidence plans. They use the ‘holidays’ in special ways to build their confidence. The most popular one is giving to others (CONTRIBUTION) – and we don’t necessarily mean presents. Give the best gift of all — you! It may seem odd to think that helping someone else during the ‘holidays’ will improve your own situation, but this can actually be one of the best activities for you during this time. Volunteering/giving helps you grasp the good side of the ‘holidays’. It gives you ‘cheer’! As someone mentioned: “The good news is that you don’t have to work countless hours or go to that darn-awful holiday office party that you always hated!”
I also received an email from Santa – he wanted to remind me to tell all of you to remember the child in us. Go caroling, ice-skating, sledding — or watch one of those great Christmas movies. Take a (SELF-TALK COMMUNICATION) walk looking for Santa’s sleigh in the north sky. I had one participant tell me that they were not going to waste the only Christmas of their life that they won’t be working 60 hour weeks. They were going to enjoy it – (sounds like a Bubble bath day or two to me) – and it has the approval of Frosty and Rudolph!

Most of my holiday e-mailers have a common theme on how to deal with being unemployed during the holidays… find a way to enjoy it! Granted, it’s not the same – but you might find more fulfillment, more peace and more happiness than you anticipated. Do stuff
that will make your holiday memorable. Remember what Jiminy Crickett says – “Just Do It”. So put some “ HO, HO, HO” twists into your Holiday Confidence Building Plan. You are worth it!

And don’t forget that the holidays are a great opportunity to ‘project’ that can do attitude. It’s a great place to do some Confidence marketing –called networking! Show ‘em how great you are and bowl them over with your ‘action’.
Lastly, from all of us at WTT – Rob, Keith, Anne-Marie, and Kathy – we wish you lots of joy and confidence during the holiday. We really care about all of you – and we know that great things are in the future for you – if you keep building your Confidence!
Happy Holidays to All!
